Daniel Hart

Daniel Frederick Hart is an American composer, musician, and classically trained violinist whose work spans film scoring, indie rock, and experimental music. A versatile artist, Hart has built a career equally defined by his solo releases, his bands The Physics of Meaning and Dark Rooms, and his extensive collaborative work. Over the years, he has performed and recorded with a wide array of acclaimed acts, including St. Vincent, Broken Social Scene, Swans, The Polyphonic Spree, John Vanderslice, and Mount Moriah, among others.

Hart first gained recognition in the film world with his score for David Lowery's *Ain't Them Bodies Saints*, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2013. His evocative, atmospheric approach to composition soon made him a sought-after voice in cinema. He went on to score Disney's *Pete's Dragon* (2016), the critically lauded *A Ghost Story* (2017), and Lowery's epic fantasy *The Green Knight* (2021), solidifying his reputation as a distinctive and emotionally resonant film composer.
