Keavy Eunice Vicente
Keavy Eunice Vicente is a Filipino screenwriter whose work reflects a deep engagement with contemporary stories of identity and connection. She honed her craft through rigorous training, participating in Ricky Lee’s ABS-CBN Scriptwriting for Television workshop and the second Cinepanulat Screenwriting Lab under the mentorship of Jun Robles Lana.
Her debut feature, *Distance* (2018), premiered at the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival and traveled widely, earning screenings at the Tokyo International Film Festival, Bengaluru International Film Festival, Roze Filmdagen, ShanghaiPRIDE, Mardi Gras Film Festival, Melbourne Queer Film Festival, and the Asian Film Festival Barcelona. The film established her as a distinctive voice in independent cinema.
Vicente’s subsequent projects display her range across genres and platforms. She wrote *Unforgettable* (2019) for Viva Films and The IdeaFirst Company, and created *Pearl Next Door* (2020), recognized as the Philippines’ first Girls’ Love series. Her 2025 release, *Love at First Spike*, is a romantic coming-of-age sports dramedy centered on queer student-athletes, exploring themes of identity, inclusivity, and young love.
Her latest film, *Open Endings* (2025), was a finalist at Cinemalaya and became the year’s top-grossing release, also earning the Best Ensemble award for its four leads. It marks her third feature and second Cinemalaya entry. Throughout her career, Vicente has collaborated with major production entities such as Dreamscape Entertainment, The IdeaFirst Company, Cignal TV, and Viva Communications Inc., building a body of work that champions nuanced, human-centered storytelling.
