John Weaver

John Weaver, a Manchester native, began his journey at St Matthew's High School before advancing to Xaverian College in 2002, where he immersed himself in English literature and Drama & Theatre studies. He further refined his craft through acting workshops across the North West of England. The 2009–10 period marked his pivotal shift from stage to screen, featuring in short films such as 'The Hive' and 'When the Dust Settles'. Both productions earned Shooting People's 'Film of the Month' honours after screenings at the London Short Film Festival; 'The Hive' also secured a BAFTA showcase and a 2012 Vimeo world award nomination.

In 2011, Weaver landed roles in 'Emmerdale', 'Waterloo Road', and a sitcom pilot that claimed the Audience Vote Award at Cofilmic. The following year brought the Lime Pictures sitcom pilot 'Scrims', a second 'Emmerdale' stint, and a spot in the BBC's 'Turn Up The Talent' showcase. By 2013, he had appeared in two episodes of 'Hollyoaks' alongside numerous short film projects. His 2014 was notably busy: a role in the feature 'The Last Showing', a third 'Emmerdale' appearance, participation in ITV's trainee director scheme, and a third feature film part. That July, he starred in 'Afterglow' at the 24:7 Theatre Festival, earning four- and five-star reviews, the Audience Award for Favourite Actor, and a Manchester Theatre Awards nomination for Best Fringe Performance. Weaver also graced Contact Theatre's 'Contact Compacts' and featured in campaigns for Coors Light, 7up, and Warburtons. He returns for a fourth 'Emmerdale' appearance in March and plays Dean in the 2015 feature 'Lapse of Honour'.
