Agenor de Miranda Araújo Neto, immortalized as Cazuza, entered the world in Rio de Janeiro on April 4, 1958, and departed it far too soon on July 7, 1990. Yet, in his brief thirty-two years, he carved an indelible place in the soul of Brazilian music.

His rise began as the commanding voice and primary wordsmith of the rock band Barão Vermelho. Alongside guitarist Roberto Frejat, Cazuza forged a legendary songwriting partnership, producing anthems that captured the restless energy of a generation. His lyrics were raw, poetic, and unflinchingly honest, blending romantic passion with a sharp, critical eye on the social and political climate of Brazil.
