Ajay (Siddharth) arrives in Kasi, where a chance encounter with a young boy profoundly shifts his perspective on life and death. He then moves to Chennai, lodging with the warm-hearted couple S V S Murthy (Mouli) and Jayam (Geetha), who embrace him like their own son. With his cheerful spirit, Ajay, a genuine do-gooder, charms everyone he meets. Vidya (Nithya Menen), a photo journalist, is drawn to his kindness and, with her help, he secures educational sponsorships for street children. However, when Vidya confesses her love, Ajay silently retreats, planning to leave the city. A sudden accident involving Vidya forces him to take responsibility, whisking her to the USA for surgery. A flashback reveals Ajay was once a successful, happily married doctor in America.
