Our Land (2026)

In 2009, a landowner and two henchmen stormed the Indigenous settlement of Chuschagasta in northern Argentina, brandishing rifles and declaring the territory theirs. They gunned down the community’s elder, Javier Chocobar, as a camera rolled, capturing the brutal act. For nine years, the killers walked free while the community’s protests swelled, until 2018 when a court finally took up the case. Through intimate photographs, testimonies, and raw trial recordings, the film traces the deep colonial roots and centuries of land theft that culminated in that fatal day.
