In the besieged city of Oxford, the residents find themselves in dire straits. After being ruthlessly betrayed by the King, Angelica is expelled from the court and left to fend for herself in poverty and hunger. At the same time, cracks are starting to appear among the Parliamentarians, threatening their unity.
