After Lana narrowly escapes an assault by a college student, Clark intervenes and injures the attacker in the process. When the Kents face a lawsuit that threatens their farm, Clark searches for a way to resolve the situation. Meanwhile, Helen’s obsessive former boyfriend arrives in Smallville, determined to rekindle their relationship. When she rejects him, he violently stabs her, leading Lex to take matters into his own hands and seek revenge.
