Hawkeye is deeply moved by the unwavering loyalty of a terminally ill soldier battling leukemia, who is devoted to his severely injured friend. However, Hawkeye struggles with his inability to provide a cure for him. At the same time, Father Mulcahy is anxious about the upcoming arrival of a Cardinal, fearing the implications it may have for the camp.
