Opera diva Elena (Yvonne DeCarlo) arrives in Medicine Bow with her assistant Melinda Plowman to give a performance. Judge Garth is captivated upon recognizing her from his past. Trouble brews when a newcomer, Carl Elston, is shot by Elena, who insists he assaulted her. However, Sheriff Abbott (Ross Elliott) uncovers information revealing that Carl was not only her husband but also her manager. As the Judge steps in to represent Elena in court, he must navigate the tangled web of their history to reveal the real story behind the tragic event.
