Leon, a struggling television writer, acquires a quirky answering machine that seems to have a personality of its own. At first, it becomes a valuable source of inspiration, supplying him with fresh ideas for his scripts. However, as time goes on, Leon realizes that the machine's influence is spiraling out of control, intruding on his daily life in unexpected and overwhelming ways.
