On their way back to Dodge with the alleged murderer Pruit Dover, Matt is ambushed and seriously injured. Despite having been apprehended, Dover chooses to remain by Matt's side, tending to his wounds and aiding in his recovery. Their unexpected bond forms under dire circumstances, testing the boundaries of justice and compassion.
