A former physician is discovered dead in his residence. As Salvo delves into the theft of around 60 safety deposit boxes from a nearby bank, he consults the bank manager, Stella Parenti. She openly expresses her interest in him and invites him to dinner. Could this be a chance for Montalbano to move past his sorrow over Livia?
