The Ingalls family and the Olesons head off for a day at the fair. Mary finds herself caught in a rivalry between her boyfriend Patrick, a carnival worker, and his charming boss Cass, a balloonist who knows how to impress the ladies. Meanwhile, Charles and Nels participate in a jackass riding contest, adding to the fun. Carrie, on the other hand, embarks on her own little escapade, making the day filled with excitement and surprises for everyone involved.
