After Alex is compelled to postpone a patient's gender reassignment surgery, she uncovers a hidden detail in his medical records that could potentially rescue the procedure, yet also disrupt his life drastically. Meanwhile, Charlie encounters a patient who, despite being physically well and mentally stable, is utterly convinced she will meet her end at midnight. At the same time, Joel discreetly aids Sonja in managing a patient of hers who has been admitted to Hope Zion Hospital.
