Christy travels to the mountains to connect with her new boyfriend, Paul, and his young daughter, aged eight. In an effort to manage her anxiety, she resorts to self-medication, which inadvertently uncovers some hidden secrets from her past. As the weekend unfolds, Christy struggles with both her personal challenges and the dynamics of forming a new family bond.
