In "Dinner with Tropes," Virginia's supervisor, Louise, starts preparing her for the position of regional sales manager. However, as Virginia witnesses the true demands of the role, she starts to reconsider. Simultaneously, Jimmy and Sabrina are concerned about their daughter Hope's apparent indifference following the passing of her pet fish.
