Twelve genetically modified kids break free from a military facility that engineered them. A decade later, following The Pulse—a devastating magnetic explosion that wiped out all computers in the U.S.—Max Guevara, one of the escapees, works as a bike courier in the remnants of Seattle. Teaming up with cyber journalist Logan Cale, she embarks on a mission to combat crime and corruption while navigating the dangers posed by her creators and searching for the truth about her origins.
