Following a prolonged captivity at Manticore, Max has successfully thwarted intense efforts to reprogram and breed her, plotting her escape from the genetics facility. She finds an ally in Joshua, a kind-hearted yet formidable creature created by Manticore, and together they liberate the other genetically altered beings. In her quest to find Logan, Max is shocked to learn that he has become the top target on Manticore's wanted list.
