In the desert, Bat is unexpectedly attacked by two men who steal his horse and water, leaving him to perish alone. Fortunately, he is saved by a farmer who has taken on the role of town marshal. Bat becomes resolute in his mission to assist the young lawman in building his confidence and ensuring he can effectively maintain order in their community.
