A Sudanese man seeks to file a lawsuit against the U.S. government for its inaction regarding the turmoil in his homeland, prompting Paul to enlist Lori for the case. Meanwhile, founding partner Shirley Schmidt arrives determined to impose structure within the firm. As she asserts her presence, she faces resistance from Denny, assists with Lori’s high-profile lawsuit, and realizes she must monitor Alan's activities closely. Alan finds himself defending a client who unintentionally killed his mother during a moment of anger, complicating the already tense atmosphere.
