Denny finds himself tasked with defending a man accused of raping and murdering a young girl, but he resolves that he'd prefer imprisonment over spending his career defending criminals. At the same time, Alan confronts his deep-seated phobia of clowns, while Shirley unexpectedly assigns Denise a strange case involving bestiality that leaves her bewildered.
