S04E12 Deserts

Deserts account for roughly 20% of the planet’s surface. Characterized by minimal annual rainfall, these arid regions experience severe dryness. They span vast expanses, with the Sahara being the largest desert, stretching from North Africa to Southwest Asia and dwarfing Texas by 13 times its size. Certain areas of the Sahara receive an astonishingly low amount of precipitation, sometimes as little as 2 millimeters (0.08 inches) of water annually.
