Midway through its journey from Montreal to Edmonton, Air Canada Flight 143, a Boeing 767-200, unexpectedly ran out of fuel at an altitude of 41,000 feet. Faced with this dire situation, the skilled crew managed to glide the plane and executed a successful emergency landing at Gimli Industrial Park Airport, a former military base located in Gimli, Manitoba.
