When John Luke, Willie's son, abandons the family pickup with an empty gas tank, Willie and Korie agree it’s time for him to have his own car. Lacking a vehicle for the day, Willie reluctantly enlists Uncle Si to drive them as they search for the ideal car for their teenage son. Meanwhile, back at the family property, Jase, Martin, and Godwin's fishing outing takes a disastrous turn when an accident sends Phil's boat sinking into the swamp.
