As the family anxiously anticipates updates on baby Joshua Matthews, Cory's self-centered behavior starts to drive Topanga away, especially since she now sees herself as part of the Matthews clan. Even Eric's young friend Tommy sees Joshua as his new "brother." It isn't until Shawn comes back and is embraced by the older Matthews as one of their own that Cory begins to understand what truly matters to him.
