Unbeknownst to him, Doc is called by Ben Pitcher to care for a sick cow, leading to a tragic outcome when one of Doc's own human patients passes away. Tensions escalate between Doc and Pitcher, culminating in a confrontation where Doc is stabbed during their altercation.
