The community is engulfed in moral outrage following revelations of an affair between a college president and a student at Matt's college. Meanwhile, Simon and Ruthie face challenges on their paper route when Mr. Mallone refuses to pay the paper fee. Mrs. Hinkle steps in to assist them with their predicament. Tensions escalate for Matt as he clashes with fellow students over differing views on the chancellor's controversial relationship. Additionally, Mary persuades Lucy to accept a date with the guy Mary is rumored to have hit with her car.
