S02E07 The Abandoned Mask

Nunnally is officially sworn in as the new Viceroy of Area 11 and announces her plan to restore the Specially Administrated Zone of Japan. Unable to oppose his sister's wish, Lelouch sinks into despair and nearly turns to Refrain. Kallen intervenes, reminding him of his responsibility as Zero to fulfill the dream he gave the Japanese people. Eavesdropping, Rolo tries to convince Lelouch to abandon his Zero identity and return to being a normal student. Meanwhile, the Black Knights are attacked by a Britannian naval fleet led by Suzaku. A spark of hope reignites in Lelouch when he sees fireworks at Ashford Academy. Racing to the battlefield, he leads the Black Knights to destroy the entire fleet, surprising Suzaku by appearing as Zero and declaring his intention to accept Nunnally's offer.
