Upon arriving in Freemont, Missouri, Fred and Esther attempt to finalize their divorce, only to encounter a judge who is strongly opposed to such proceedings. Fred tries to convey their situation, and while the judge seems to grasp the issue, he ultimately remains perplexed. He insists that the only solution he can offer is for them to get officially married first, followed by a divorce.
